Chocolate Frosting Recipe with a Reputation!
Nothing makes a party quite like a really good cake with chocolate frosting.
If you’re like us, you can’t eat cake and frosting on a regular basis, but we bet you would if you could. We know that there is nothing low-calorie, extremely healthy, or anything in this recipe that will help with that New Year’s resolution. So, why not live vicariously through others?
We love to cook for others. That’s how we stay healthy and fit when it’s time to party! Be that family member or friend that shows up at the door with cake and chocolate frosting. They will love you for it.
If you like recipes with a story, this one is for you.
According to grandma Marie, “Rhee” as the kids would call her, Mrs. Walter Damorsch, whose husband was a famous conductor, paid the head chef at the Waldorf Astoria in New York a $150 for this recipe. At the time, $150 was a huge amount of money, but this recipe is every bit worth it. This has been handed down from grandma Rhee to us to share with you.
Please feel free to print and share this with your family and friends. Enjoy and please let us know what you think by commenting below.
3 oz – Cream Cheese
2 sq – Melted Unsweetened Chocolate
1 teaspoon – Vanilla
2 Cups – Powdered Sugar
3 Tablespoons – Strong Coffee (no unleaded allowed)
Blend the cheese and one cup sugar. Mix in other ingredients. Beat 100 strokes. (Unless Popeye lives in your house use the mixer on low, but be careful not to over-mix).
Put in the frig to cool, and spread some goodness.
